| ….Masters, treat your slaves with justice and fairness, knowing that you too have a Master in heaven. | 1 |
| ….Persevere in prayer, being alert and giving thanks when you pray. At the same time, pray for us also, that God might open a door for our message- to proclaim the mystery of Christ on account of which I am also in chains- and that I make the message clear as I should. Act wisely towards those outside the church, making the most of the time that you have. Let your words always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you should respond to everyone. | 2-6 |
| ….Tychicus, my beloved brother, faithful minister, and fellow-slave in Christ, will make known to you all the news about me. I am sending him to you for that very reason, so that you may know the things concerning us and that he may comfort your hearts, I am sending him together with Onesimus, the faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you; They will tell you about everything that has happened here. | 7-9 |
| ….Aristarchus, my fellow-prisoner , sends his greetings to you, as does Mark, the nephew of Barnabas (you received instructions concerning him- welcome him if he comes to you). Jesus, who is called Justus, also greets you. Out of those who are of the circumcision, these are the only fellow-workers for the kingdom of God, and they have been a comfort to me. Epaphras, who is one of you and a slave of Christ, greets you. He is always struggling in prayer on your behalf so that you might stand mature and fully assured as to the entire will of God. For I can testify to him, that he has worked hard for you, and those in Laodicea, and those in Hierapolis. Luke, the beloved physician, greets you, as does Demas. Greet the brothers and sisters in Laodicea, and greet Nympha also, as well as the church who gathers at her house. When this letter has been read among you, make sure that it is also read to the church gathered at Laodicea, and that you read the letter from Laodicea also. Tell Archippus, “See to it that you complete the ministry which you have received from the Lord.” | 10-17 |
| ….I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand. Remember my chains. Grace be with you. | 18 |
