Welcome to ΚΑΤΑΓΡΑΦΑΙΣ
About The Author. My name is Bryan Lilly, and I am a 24 year old student at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where I am pursuing an M.Div in Christian Ministry. My undergrad degree is in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Resource, which I received from West Virginia University. I am currently living in Louisville, KY, though I was born and raised in southern West Virginia.
Academically, I don’t have a set plan other than getting my M.Div, though I have flirted with the idea of getting a post-graduate degree. I still have a while to go yet, and plenty of time to make that decision. As of right now, my interests mainly lie in New Testament Greek, New Testament studies, Biblical theology, that ambiguous term called ‘missional,’ urban ministry, and the arts.
About the blog. ΚΑΤΑΓΡΑΦΑΙΣ is a Greek phrase which can be translated “according to the Scriptures.” This blog will be a place where I share ideas, thoughts, and reflections on issues dealing with Christianity, Biblical studies, culture, etc. It is my hope that everything I do is grounded in the Christian worldview, and in order to be so properly grounded, all things must be anchored in the ancient Scriptures which God has revealed to us through the inspired writings. As such, this blog will be a record of the things I am learning (and sometimes relearning!) through Scripture, discussions on the culture we find ourselves living in, and a place to provide links, information, and resources on the reformed faith and cultural commentary.
It is my sincere and deepest desire that this blog would glorify God in all that it does. I pray that it would be used so that we all grow closer to God and rejoice in His supremacy in all things, through the writing, reading and interaction this blog can provide.
Posting Guidlines
I only have a few rules for posting.
1. A name and email (which is not published) is required.
2. Use your real name and a real email (no anonymous posting)
3. Keep comments on topic.
4. No profanity.
5. No trolling.
All comments will be held in queue until I approve them. I have the right to delete any comment, though a view of comments left on this blog will show that I do not abuse this privilege. I may or may not respond to comments left, and generally do not debate in the comments. If you disagree with what I say or what other commentators have said, feel free to voice your opinions, but do so courteously. Remember, the idea here is edification not cutting down. Anonymous comments will not be allowed, so please post your actual name and email. You may use a first initial or last initial if you are uncomfortable with using your whole name, or even just a first name. That being said, feel free to comment! I greatly enjoy the feedback and fellowship it provides.
